By accessing the data and information published on this web application, and all Matter related products and services, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to these Matter Data Usage Terms and Conditions.

In particular, please read the paragraphs below which detail certain Intellectual Property Rights (4.) and Sustainability data (5.).

1. Introduction

These Data Usage Terms & Conditions ("Agreement") govern the use of data provided by Matter DK ApS ("Company") to users ("Users") for the purpose of promoting sustainability data in the context of the Company's products and services. This Agreement applies to Users worldwide.

2. Scope of Data Usage

Purpose: The data provided by the Company is intended for Users to leverage in their sustainability initiatives, analytics, and reporting within the Company's products and services.

Data Types: The Company provides various types of sustainability data, including but not limited to observations on the ESG and sustainability profile of companies’ products, services and conduct.


Limitations: The use of the data is restricted to the specific purposes outlined above. Users are prohibited from using the data for any illegal, unethical, or harmful activities, including but not limited to misrepresentation, defamation, or infringement of intellectual property rights.

3. User Obligations

Authorised Use: Users agree to use the data solely for the authorised purposes specified in this Agreement and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations in their respective jurisdictions.

Data Confidentiality: Users acknowledge and agree to maintain the confidentiality and security of the data provided by the Company. Users shall implement appropriate safeguards to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, or alteration of the data.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

Ownership: The Company retains all intellectual property rights, title, and interest in the data provided. This Agreement does not grant Users any rights, licences, or ownership over the data.

Restrictions: Users are strictly prohibited from reproducing, modifying, utilising, distributing, or selling the data or any derivative works based on the data without the prior written consent of the Company.
Subject to the paragraph above, none of the data or information on the website is permitted to be used in connection with the creation, development, exploitation, calculation, dissemination, distribution or publication of financial indices or analytics products or datasets (including any scoring, indicator, metric or model relating to environmental, climate, carbon, sustainability or other similar considerations) or financial products (being exchange traded funds, mutual funds, undertakings collective investment in transferable securities (UCITS), collective investment schemes, separately managed accounts, listed futures and listed options); and Users are prohibited from using any data or information on the Company’s products and services in any of such ways and from permitting or purporting to permit any such use.
The data referenced on the Company’s products and services and supporting materials is not intended to be used as a “benchmark” as defined in Regulation (EU) 2016/1011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 June 2016 on indices used as benchmarks in financial instruments and financial contracts or to measure the performance of investment funds (the European Benchmark Regulation) and The Benchmarks (Amendment and Transitional Provision) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 (the UK Benchmark Regulation).
Prohibited activities: This prohibited activities list will be included in our legal terms by default.
Systematically retrieving data or content from Company's products and services to create a collection or database without written permission of the Company.
Trick, defraud, or mislead you or other users, especially in any attempt to learn sensitive account information such as user passwords.
Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features of Company's products and services. This includes features that prevent/restrict the use of any content limits products and services usage.
Disparage, tarnish, or otherwise harm, in our opinion, the Company and/or Company's products and services.
Users are prohibited from altering, modifying, or tampering with the data in any unauthorised manner that may compromise its integrity, accuracy, or reliability.
Use the support services improperly, or submit false reports of abuse or misconduct.
Use Company's products and services inconsistently with any applicable laws or regulations.
Framing or linking to Company's products and services without authorization.
Attempt to upload or transmit viruses, Trojan horses, or other materials (including excessive use of capital letters and spamming) that interferes with any party's uninterrupted use of Company's products and services and its features.
Delete the copyright or other proprietary rights notice from any content.
Impersonate another user or person or use the username of another user.
Upload any materials that actively or passively collects information or acts as a transmission mechanism (includes gifs, 1x1 pixels, web bugs, cookies, spyware, pcms, etc.)
Interfere, disrupt, or create an undue burden on Company's products and services, networks, or services.
Harass, annoy, intimidate, or threaten any of our employees or agents engaged in providing any portion of Company's products and services to you.
Bypass measures of Company's products and services designed to prevent/restrict access.
Copy/adapt Company's products and services's software (includes Flash, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, or other code).
Decipher, decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer any of the software that makes up Company's products and services.
Except as may be the result of standard search engine or Internet browser usage, use, launch, develop, or distribute any automated system, including without limitation, any spider, robot, cheat utility, scraper, or offline reader that accesses the Site, or using or launching any unauthorised script or other software.
Use any automated system (spiders, robots, cheat utility, scraper, offline reader) to access the site, or launch any unauthorised script or software (Unless as a result of a standard search engine or internet browser usage).
Use Company's products and services in an unauthorised way (collecting usernames, email addresses, of users for the purpose of sending unsolicited email, or creating user accounts by automated means or under false pretences).
Use Company's products and services in an effort to compete with the Company, or otherwise use Company's products and services and/or the content Content for any revenue-generating endeavour or commercial enterprise.
